"After another election cycle, we now know that Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States. While he has not yet taken office, the public markets have had eight weeks to let us know what it expects under the new administration. The broad market, defined as the S&P 500, has experienced a 4.6% increase since the election. While the market as a whole has done well, not all subsectors have grown at similar rates. The Consumer Products and Food subsectors have both underperformed the market while the Beverage subsector has declined since the election."
