William Goldman & Sons, LLC, a large independent paper packer, broker, and distributor, retained Shields & Company to assist in its sale to a strategic acquirer. The result of the sale process was the acquisition of a majority of the Company's operating assets by Casella Waste Systems, Inc., a publicly-traded waste management company in the northeastern United States. The transaction allowed Casella Waste Systems to consolidate a number of its recycling subsidiaries into one operation.
