Mr. Shields has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, fairness opinions, public offerings, litigation support (including expert witness testimony), and financial advisory services. Mr. Shields also serves on the Boards of Directors of BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc., Clean Harbors, Inc. and several private companies.  Mr. Shields is a former managing director of Bear, Stearns & Co. He is a past president of the Harvard Business School Association of Boston, and former chairman of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital

Mrs. Shields specializes in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and restructuring, and financial advisory services. She is also president of Shields Securities, Inc., an NASD broker/dealer and Registered Investment Advisor firm.  She is a former vice president in the corporate banking groups of Irving Bancorp and Citicorp.  She was also an investment officer with Cabot, Cabot, and Forbes, Boston.  Mrs. Shields is currently president of the Boston Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and serves on the boards of private companies.

 Richard W. Newman
 Managing Director

Mr. Newman directs the valuation and fairness opinion practice at Shields & Company, where he also assists clients in buy- and sell-side transactions. He has over twenty-five years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, business valuations and valuation-related consulting, and has served as an expert witness for several New England-based companies. Mr. Newman previously managed his own corporate finance activity, specializing in the valuation of businesses. Prior to establishing his own business, he was the Director of KPMG Peat Marwick's New England Mergers and Acquisitions Group.

 Laura M. Moruzzi
 Managing Director

During her career at Shields & Company, Ms. Moruzzi has gained extensive professional experience working on a variety of corporate finance transactions for both public and private clients. In addition, she has worked on a broad range of projects including middle-market mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, hostile takeover defenses, fairness opinions, and business and intellectual property valuation assignments.

 Timothy M. White, CFA
 Managing Director

Mr. White has developed a broad range of transaction experience focusing on middle-market mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, capital raising, and valuation assignments. Prior to joining Shields & Company in 1998, Mr. White was an associate with TM Capital Corp., a New York-based investment banking boutique. He began his career as a financial analyst with Barclay Bank's BZW division in the high-technology group. Mr. White holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Prior to joining Shields & Company in 2003 as an analyst, Mr. Zink worked in the Private Wealth Management group at Mellon Financial Services. He received an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College with a concentration in Economics.
